"Fuel Poverty Awareness Day highlights a crisis that affects some of the most vulnerable in our society, including many older people who are disproportionately affected.”

“This winter, older people will be living in cold homes, risking their health and well-being due to high energy costs and inadequate support. No one should have to choose between heating their home and other basic necessities, yet for thousands of pensioners, this is their reality.”

“Policy makers need to prioritise immediate and long-term measures to address fuel poverty, including financial assistance, energy efficiency programs and outreach efforts to ensure older people are aware of and can access the help available to them.

Every older person deserves the security and dignity of a warm, safe home, on Fuel Poverty Awareness Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to ending this crisis and ensuring that no one is left out in the cold.”
