Issues we can help support you with
Some of the issues we provide support with are:
- Complaints about health and social care matters, for example where a complaint has not been resolved by the Health and Social Care Trust
- Complaints about a public authority, where the complaint has not been resolved by the relevant authority’s complaints’ process
- Safeguarding and protection – providing support to older people in relation to formal and informal investigations into allegations of abuse
- Whistleblowing – assisting employees who raise concerns about the treatment of older people in care settings
Some of the ways we might be able to provide support
Some of the ways we might be able to provide support are:
- Our legal team may attend meetings with you or on behalf of you
- Writing letters or making calls on your behalf
- Intervening directly if older people are having difficulties with a public body and have not been able to get it resolved
- Carrying out investigations
If you are not sure if we can help, then you can give our advocacy team a call who are on hand to assist you with your queries and if needed, they can signpost you to the right organisation.
