Who we are
The Commissioner for Older People (COPNI) was set up in 2011 after older people in Northern Ireland lobbied for an independent champion – someone who would advocate on their behalf and ensure their interests are being protected and heard across government.
The Commissioner acts independently of the Northern Ireland government to protect the rights of older people.
