Winning design: (Older penguin looking after the young) Hilary Robinson, North Down & Ards U3A
Artists from local U3As and older people's groups across Northern Ireland submitted designs for the annual COPNI Christmas card earlier this month. The winning design was submitted by Hilary Robinson (North Down and Ards U3A) and was featured on COPNI's Christmas Cards for 2015. Wanda Johns (Armagh U3A) and Alex Boden Bell (Holywood U3A) were also awarded 'highly commended' for their beautiful designs.
Many excellent pieces of art were submitted and the decision to choose just one was difficult. Evelyn Hoy, Chief Executive, The Commissioner for Older People for Northern Ireland said:
"Older people make many vibrant, positive contributions to all aspects of society including the arts. This is why it's so important to celebrate the work of local, older artists.
"I would like to thank all those who took the time to send in a design, and congratulate Hilary Robinson on the beautiful piece of art which was used on the Christmas Cards this year."
Highly Commended: Wanda Johns (Armagh U3A)
